Jud Buechler’s eligibility for the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame falls under the category of “professional athletic success” on top of his contribution to the basketball program. Buechler is a member of Arizona’s “Ring of Honor” in McKale Center.

A first-team All-Pac-10 selection in 1990, Buechler won three NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls from 1996 to 1998. He played 12 seasons in the NBA, a significant accomplishment on its own.

Buechler’s field goal percentage of 60.7 in 1988-89 ranks as the best in Arizona history by a player other than a center or power forward. He was a wing player who bide his time behind Sean Elliott for three years before becoming Lute Olson’s captain in 1989-90.

His successful professional career included time on the two-man pro beach volleyball circuit and Bud Light four-man beach tour.
