The only criteria that could be holding Lance Briggs back from the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame is that he has not yet retired after 11 illustrious seasons in the NFL.

But then again former Arizona standout receiver and returner Dennis Northcutt was inducted into Arizona’s hall of fame in 2006, three years before his NFL career ended.

Briggs, a two-time All-Pac-10 selection, is a seven-time Pro Bowl player with Chicago. He has yet to re-sign with the Bears and stands as a free agent.

Few former Wildcats have gone on to enjoy the kind of “professional athletic success” (a criteria for Arizona’s hall of fame) that Briggs has experienced.
