Lightfoot was first a Kansas Jayhawk fan born in Kansas City, Mo., but moved with his family to Oro Valley in the Tucson area when he was young. He lived there for 12 years before heading to the Phoenix area.
“I started out a Kansas fan but then moved to Tucson and developed into a Wildcat fan,” Lightfoot said. “I went to a bunch of their games and met some of their players.”
I asked him if it is surreal now knowing Arizona’s program wants him.
“I’d like to say no, but it is surreal as all hell,” he said. “It’s super rewarding and I’m going to try to make a difference if I go there.”
