Cholla High School graduate Daniel Robledo, who played his freshman season at East Los Angeles (Calif.) College last year, announced today via Twitter he has chosen to continue his football career at Missouri.
Arizona fell short in its bid to land Robledo, who was born in East Los Angeles but was raised in Tucson. He has worked out here this spring and summer at JET Sports Training and Resilient Fitness.
Robledo, a 6-foot-5 and 280-pound defensive end, also picked Missouri over UCLA, Washington State, Boise State, Houston, UCF, Maryland, South Florida, Ole Miss and others.
“I chose Missouri for many reasons,” Robledo, 19, said in his Twitter announcement (filmed at Resilient Fitness). “They have a great coaching staff and they’ve been there, loved me, and supported me since day one when they recruited me. They are going to take me to my highest level of competition and bring me to my highest point as an athlete. I truly believe they will give me everything that I have and I will give them everything that I have.”

He left Cholla last year without a scholarship offer and emerged as a high-quality prospect after his freshman season at East Los Angeles College, where he recorded 35 tackles with nine for loss, including four sacks.
“At a young age, my parents involved me in a lot of sports, and no matter what sport it was, I gave my 120 percent and I never gave up,” Robledo said. “Throughout my high school years, I had a lot of ups and downs with my academics and I was not able to achieve with the standard to get a Division I offer.
“After I graduated, I didn’t have any offers. I didn’t know where else to go. But I was blessed with the opportunity to go to East Los Angeles College and to play at a high level in JUCO and be around a great coaching staff and a lot of great teammates to help me grow not only as an athlete but also as a man.”
