Jill Talbot-Blasczyk is to Dave Rubio’s volleyball program what Steve Kerr was to Lute Olson’s basketball operation early in his tenure.
Talbot-Blasczyk, an unheralded recruit out of high school just like Kerr, became a first-team All-American as a senior in 2001 when Arizona reached the Final Four in volleyball. She joined teammate Dana Burkholder as a first-team All-American that season.
Burkholder, a two-time All-American, is in the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.
Talbot-Blasczyk was a four-year starter for the Wildcats. She became only the third Arizona player to accumulate 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills in a career.
